RMF Engineering, Inc., an innovative, top ranked national engineering firm, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Baltimore, MD office.

Position Description:
The Mechanical Design Engineer will support our Infrastructure Department and will be part of a team involved in the design and construction of central steam plants and combined heat and power facilities for large campuses (college, institutional, pharmaceutical). 
 
The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Perform engineering calculations associated with mechanical power plant equipment.
  • Prepare heat/energy balance calculations for various power plant cycles.
  • Preparation of equipment specifications.
  • Perform engineering studies and evaluations.
  • Participate in engineering field investigations.
  • Prepare engineering cost estimates.
  • Work with 3-D power plant layout software.
  • Develop Process and Instrumentation Diagrams. 
  • Assist in the preparation of construction drawings.
  • Participate in In-house training programs. 
 
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from accredited college or university
  • 3 years of mechanical design experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software
  • AutoCAD experience preferred, but not required
  • EIT certification preferred, but not required
