Description/Job Summary

RMF Engineering, a national engineering firm has an immediate need for a Project Accountant for our Baltimore corporate office.

Job Description:

The Project Accountant will be responsible for processing monthly client invoices, preparing daily bank deposits, monthly journal entries, collections, cash receipts, account reconciliations, financial analysis, purchase orders, contract administration, monthly government reporting, and other duties to assist the Controller. The successful candidate will have the ability to make accurate, independent decisions, possess a positive attitude, and be able to prioritize multiple deadlines. Must be flexible and willing to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for preparing and processing billing, Accounts Receivable and General Ledger entries.
  • Collections
  • Prepare Accounts Receivables activities including preparing contract billings, submitting invoices to client vendor pay systems.
  • Perform financial analysis and bank reconciliations.
  • Produce routine management reports and other reports as requested.
  • Periodically prepare regulatory reports with local and federal governments
  • Contract Administration
  • Divisional Financial reporting
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual accounting and closing activities.
  • Process cash receipts.



Required Qualifications:

  • 5 -7 years of previous accounting experience
  • High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent
  • Accounts receivables and billing experience
  • Must have experience with MS Excel
  • MS Office experience
  • Professional level oral and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Familiarity with accounting principles and applications
  • Analytical and time-management skills are essential.
  • Self-motivated
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with clients, vendors, peers and management


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Engineering, Construction or Professional Service industries highly preferred
  • Professional service contracts administration experience is desirable.
  • Deltek Vantagepoint experience highly preferred
